Endeavor STEM Professional Development Certificate - 15 graduate credits

Teachers seeking a certificate in STEM may register for the 15 credit Endeavor STEM Professional Development Certificate. Courses are developed to meet the needs and goals of full time teaching professionals. A variety of content specific courses allow for selection that differentiates to individual teacher and/or school interests and STEM integration goals. Participants will advance their knowledge of ambitious science and math teaching strategies using engineering and technology as innovative tools for teaching standards-based content. Authentic Data in the STEM Classroom is recommended (not required) as the first course.

To earn the Endeavor STEM Professional Development Certificate, teachers must take 5 courses.

Select 3-4 classes from the following options (Check Rider’s Registrar page for semester availability):

  • Physics for Real Beginners: Earth, Moon, and Space
  • Life and Marine Science: Tracking Live Marine Animals
  • Exploring Mars: A New Twist on Science or Math
  • Investigations in Climate Science
  • Coding, Robotics and 1:1 Devices
  • Math Connections to STEM Education
  • Chemistry in the STEM Classroom
  • Lessons from the Ocean: Science on the Water Planet
  • Eyes on Earth: Teaching Earth Science from Space
  • Culturally Relevant Pedagogy in the STEM Classroom
  • Physical Science in Motion: Classroom Applications
  • Astronomy and Space Science
  • The E in STEM: Meaningful Content for Engineering
  • Reading and Writing in the Science Classroom
  • The Arts in STEM: Advancing Meaningful Integration

And 1-2 classes from the following options (Check Rider’s Registrar page for semester availability):

  • Teaching and Learning Physical Science
  • Teaching and Learning Chemical Science
  • Teaching and Learning Life Science
  • Teaching and Learning Earth and Space Science
  • Engineering Solutions to the Challenges of Contemporary Science Issues

  • Teaching and Learning Number and Operations
  • Teaching and Learning Rational Numbers and Proportional Reasoning
